Mattresses, tyres, and 100 bags of rubbish - these were items shifted by Mexborough clean-up volunteers
and live on Freeview channel 276
An army of members of the Mexborough Neighbourhood Network went out with bags and litter picking sticks, along with volunteers from groups in Wath, West Melton, Brampton, Swinton and Kilnhurt.
Over the course of Saturday, April 3, over 100 black bags were filled with litter, and other rubbish including mattresses, tyres, a children’s trike, rubble, and cardboard, was taken away.

Hide AdThe volunteer went to work along White Lee Road, Wath Road, Frederick Street, Spencer Street , Chapel Street, Barker Street, Oak Road, Highwoods Road,
and Hawthorne Crescent.

The organisation is now planning another litter-pick and cleansing blitz on Saturday April 10 at 10.30am in partnership with Mexborough Ferryboat Volunteers. Those taking part are meeting at the bottom of Ferryboat Lane and organisers say all are welcome.
