Khloe-Maii Fox, aged eight, created a colourful poster to display at the bus stop near her home on Ascot Avenue, in Cantley, in a bid to keep spirits high in the community during the coronavirus pandemic.
The youngster put the poster up on April 1, asking people to ‘keep smiling’ and has left both pens and extra pieces of paper for others to get involved and draw their own positive messages.

Khloe's mother, Claire Fox, said “Khloe spent first hour of poster going up in the window waiting, then from then she when out to check every hour to see if anybody had interacted.
“We then went on to decorate the path surrounding the bus stop. This caused a stir and somebody posted it to our Cantley Facebook group. Gaining around 200 likes.”
Her grandmother Jeanette Watson, who lives in the nearby village of Blaxton, is a community staff nurse for the Rotherham, Doncaster, and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust.

“Obviously we’re still working and we go past the end of her street so I’ve dropped a care package off for her – or as she calls it her chocolate – with an Easter egg, and she’s left out buns that she’s made for us and the posters that she’s printed.
“The bus shelter is right outside her house and she's watching through her window constantly to see what people are writing and she’s so excited, the bin man drew a massive smile.
“She’s a very happy, polite, adorable, little girl who never moans about anything. She understands why she can’t see all of us and that it is for everybody’s safety. That’s just Khloe, she loves being creative.”

“It’s the same for all of us, we’re just scared and worried – worried for ourselves, our colleagues, our friends and family members. It’s just a difficult situation,” she added.
