The charity Eve Merton Dreams Trust has received a £75,000 donation to help them continue to support cancer patients and their families from the company BGL.
The charity was set up in 2011 by Martin Lawrence and Clynton Johnson after Martin lost his mother, Eve Merton, to cancer.

Hide AdIt aims to fulfill the dreams of terminally and seriously ill cancer patients in the Doncaster area, providing families with something to look forward to and creating positive memories.
Martin Lawrence said: “We can’t thank BGL enough for this huge, charity-saving donation.
“There are no words to describe what this means to us and the people we support.
“The Covid-19 pandemic is having a huge impact on everyone in the charity sector and we are all worrying about the future and our charities’ future sustainability.”

Hide AdThe non-profit cancer charity helps people to create positive memories during an incredibly hard time. They often arrange special days and wishes for those undergoing cancer treatment.
“People are still trying to manage cancer conditions with treatments being put on hold and patients and families in full lockdown to protect the most vulnerable,” he continued.
“Sadly, isolation is having a direct impact on patients’ mental health, with those patients already suffering as a result of their diagnoses now also worried about the risk of catching coronavirus.
“Hospitals are seeing dramatic decreases in patients attending A&E and new suspected cancer referrals as people are too scared to attend the doctors.”

Hide AdMartin fears that once the lockdown is over, there will be a huge spike in cancer diagnoses from those patients.
“That will result in a spike in impacted families and therefore a greater need for the work of Eve’s Trust,” he continued.
“Thanks to this amazing £75K donation, we will be able to be there for those families.”
