Man shot on Sheffield street 'had been attending family celebration'
A 23-year-old man was rushed to Northern General Hospital following a shooting outside a house in Daniel Hill Terrace, Upperthorpe, on Saturday, at around 1.35pm.
Armed police and forensics officers were at the scene this afternoon, where surrounding roads had been cordoned off.

Hide AdOne bystander said he knew the victim, who he said had been attending a family celebration that afternoon. He said the shooting had taken place outside the family home.
"It was supposed to be a happy family gathering, and it's so sad what has happened," he said.
Residents and shopkeepers spoke of their shock at the shooting in what they said was a safe area.
One man said: "It's a long time since we've had any serious crime around here. I don't feel safe any more."

Hide AdA shopkeeper in nearby Upperthorpe Road said: "We haven't had any problems around here. We feel it's a safe area and we're shocked by what's happened today.
This is the second shooting in the city within a week, after another man was gunned down in Butterthwaite Road, Shiregreen, on Monday night.
The 25-year-old victim of that attack suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot in the chest, but police later that week described his condition as stable
A 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder was later bailed by police. It is not known at this stage whether the shootings are linked in any way.

Hide AdReports have suggested the victim of the latest shooting was in a black Mercedes when he was shot. This has not been confirmed, but a black Mercedes was visible beyond the police cordon, with forensics officers gathered round.
Police have asked anyone with information to call 101, quoting the incident number 571 of February 18.
