The large sums of money and suspected drugs were recovered by officers yesterday (Tuesday, August 25) during a raid after they executed two search warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Properties on Sydney Road and Acacia Road were raided after police received intelligence that the addresses had links to county lines drug dealing – where organised crime groups groom and exploit children and vulnerable adults to traffic drugs between counties.

Three people were detained by police as part of the raid operation yesterday.
A 64-year-old man and two women, aged 47 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs and they have been released under investigation.
Detective Inspector Steve Smith said: “County lines is an incredibly damaging tactic undertaken by certain organised crime groups.

“Carrying out warrants and seizing drugs and suspected proceeds of crime is vital in disrupting these tactics.
"We want to make life as difficult as possible for dealers while gathering more information about their operations and building up a picture of their criminal network.
“County lines gangs are a threat to our communities; most of all to vulnerable people, both adults and children.
