Daniel Walsh murdered Graham Snell in June 2019 and chopped his body into ten pieces before disposing of them around the town, with the majority “fed to the badgers” in isolated woodland.
Following a lengthy trial at Derby Crown Court, Walsh was found guilty by unanimous verdict on December 14.

Previously, the court heard that Walsh murdered Mr Snell at the Hartington Street home they were sharing after the pensioner discovered the 30-year-old had gained access to his bank accounts and was stealing his money.
Mr Snell had then gone to the Halifax in Chesterfield and involved the fraud team, before reporting the matter with police in the town.
